AmilandBy Florian Schewe, Vojtech Pokorny75 minutes Inspired by Hartmut Bitomsky's television documentary Highway 40 West, Florian Schewe and Vojtech Pokorny created another roadtrip documentary that follows Route 40 from Atlantic City to San Francisco. From the Realeyz.tv web site: The itinerary was specially chosen to avoid the modern flow of traffic and mainstream points of interest. The audience becomes one of the passengers on this trip, traveling more than 4,000 kilometers by car through the American heartland. The stops are mostly in small towns in the middle of nowhere. The episodes vary in length and each centers on its own concrete theme. The town's residents talk about their lives and their view of the world, which also ends up showing what makes each State special. The filmmakers have found the perfect form - the road film - for presenting the stops along the way in their own episodic fashion. By traveling from East to West, the film also mirrors not only the historical expansion of the United States but portrays the mythical 'American Way of Life.' Watch the trailer: For more information:
