Kingdom City, MO 65262During the Civil War this region of Missouri considered itself an independent sovereign state. The name Kingdom City is a remnant of that time. Stewart's original location is about a half mile to the west. For years there was a sign there and the scene was almost identical to Stewart's original photo. When the town expanded to the east, the sign was moved here.
