I can't help but think of the Samples' geat song about driving across Indiana whenever I'm in the Hoosier state. Check back later! The Indiana section of the scrapbook is being built.

Richmond

This old Quaker meetinghouse houses the Wayne County Historical Society. Well worth a visit. Following the terrible gas explosion in Richmond in 1968, Main Street (Route 40) was closed and a pedestrian mall was built. Route 40 was realigned on North A Street for westbound traffic and on South A Street for eastbound traffic. Unfortunately, the pedestrian mall idea proved to be awful from a business perspective.

Pennville

The Coffee Pot was one of the finest examples of programatic architecture along Route 40. Unfortunately, the coffee pot came down years ago, leaving the building unadorned.
