This spring is situated on a lot in McKeesport owned by Mrs. Elizabeth Bennett, a short distance from the corner of Bennett Avenue and Braddock Street. Here, July 8, 1755, Braddock encamped. Washington, who had taken seriously ill at or near Little Crossings, two miles west of Great Meadows, joined Braddock, at this, his last encampment before the Battle at Braddock's Field.
