N.A. 1: The North-South Continental HighwayBy George Rippey Stewart, Erwin Raisz (Illustrator)Boston, MA: Houghton Mifflin 1957 Hardcover edition. This book continues the travel essay style found in 'U.S. 40.' Two volumes. Volume I focuses on travel from Fairbanks to the U.S./Canada border. Volume II focuses on travel from the U.S./Mexico border to Panama. Oddly enough, Stewart elected to not write about travel in the U.S. - for fear of indicating one highway over another. Instead, he wanted to encourage exploration.
