Bridge

Wilson Bridge

Independence Road
Wilson, MD 21722

Constructed in 1819 by Silas Harry, it has five stone arches and a length of 215 feet. A newer bridge just to the south opened in 1937, diverted most traffic away. It remained open to traffic until 1972 when Hurricane Agnes destroyed significant portions of the bridge. In 1982 part of the bridge collapsed. It was rebuild and now serves as a pedestrian bridge across the Conococheague Creek.
