My Father, Fred N. Edelen, (and possibly other investors) built, owned and operated The Red Door Supper Club.[ I was under ten at the time, but I recall the glass blocks that were on the outside and red upholstered lounge seats inside. Clyde McCoy frequently played his trumpet in a band there. "Sugar Blues" was his signature piece and I still have a 78 record that he made and gave to my father. It was unique in that it is a clear record with pictures in between. I don't know how long it was open, but I believe it opened in approximately 1954.
