John Kennedy Lacock Photograph

John Kennedy Lacock Braddock Road Postcard No. 47: The Narrows, north of Connellsville, Pa.

1908

Connellsville, PA

Caption:

Captain Orme says: 'we were obliged to encamp about a mile on the west (east) side where we halted a day to cut a passage over a mountain.' This 'mountain' of which he speaks is a high bluff known as 'the narrows.' The thirteenth encampment - 'the camp on the west (east) side of the Youghiogheny,' was about a mile from the mouth of Mounts Creek.
